OptionsNerd.com's Founder John F. Summa Publishes New Book On Options Trading
Hamden, CT, Feb. 20 - John F. Summa, founder and current President of OptionsNerd.com, a website founded in 1997 to provide market forecasts, trading advisories and options education, has just finished writing two books: Options on Futures – New Trading Strategies and Options on Futures Workbook – Step-by-Step Exercises and Tests to Help You Master Options on Futures (John Wiley & Sons). Coauthored by Jonathan Lubow, vice president of Trader's Edge, Inc, a Madison NJ based options and futures brokerage, the two books fill a big hole in books about options.
Almost every major financial publication devotes space to the options on futures market. Yet the world of these fertile trading opportunities remains virtually unharvested by the retail trading public, largely due to the lack of good books on the topic. Many traders confine themselves to trading stock options only, not realizing how easily a basic understanding of options can be transferred into trading options on futures.
Options on Futures – New Trading Strategies (Wiley; December 2001; $59.95; Cloth) and Options on Futures Workbook – Step-by-Step Exercises and Tests to Help You Master Options on Futures (Wiley; December 2001, $29.95; Paper) take today's investors beyond stock options trading. The reader is able to look over the shoulders of two of today's leading option traders – with more than 25 years of combined experience – as they set up their own trades in commodity options and other futures markets.
Options on Futures is not only written as a how-to guide to understanding options on futures terms, characteristics, and strategies, but shows today's traders how to adjust and take decisive action in both favorable and unfavorable market conditions. Readers also find out about the author's "net selling" approach to trading options. Summa and Lubow share what their research – based on historical data from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange – has proved about the "seller's advantage".
Finally, the reader is able to build on the solid foundation offered in Options on Futures with the Options on Futures Workbook, which corresponds chapter by chapter to the main volume. The Workbook starts by summarizing the key concepts of each chapter, then follows with a series of review questions and supplemental exercises containing simulated trades and market conditions, thus reinforcing these key concepts.
Options on Futures opens a whole new dimension to trading that every investor who has ever been frustrated by time-value decay would not want to miss.
